Michael A. Fornaro, PhD, is a distinguished interior architect, author, and personal property appraiser with over 20 years of expertise in fine art and collectibles. His academic foundation, including a PhD in Urban Studies from Cleveland State University, is complemented by extensive research and professional practice. Michael has provided appraisal services for institutions such as the Museum of Fine Arts at Florida State University and worked with private collectors, solidifying his reputation within the fine art and design community. His dedication to design and research continues to fuel his contributions across multiple disciplines.
Beyond Michael’s academic and professional accomplishments, he is deeply committed to advancing the arts and engaging with the arts community. He currently serves on the Dean’s Advisory Council for the College of Fine Arts at Florida State University, collaborating with the Florida State University Museum of Fine Arts to develop innovative strategies and curate events that enhance public appreciation of the arts. In this capacity, he also contributes to fundraising efforts supporting the Museum and the College of Fine Arts. As Chair of the Student Engagement Committee, he works to inspire student participation and foster meaningful dialogue about the arts, encouraging a lifelong connection to creative expression. Additionally, he is a proud member of the Chairman’s Circle and an advocate for the Ringling Museum’s Outreach Program, which provides art and educational opportunities to underprivileged children and families in Sarasota County and neighboring communities.
