Like many things, choosing an exterior paint scheme is a combination of art and science. One of the most important principles of design is proportion. Even if you have all the perfect colors, the effect can be unsuccessful if the selected colors are not used in fitting proportions relative to each other. One of the most common design principles for exterior color selection is the 60-30-10 rule. Over the past 10 years the Luxe Design Creative Team has gained the reputation as the Exterior Color Experts completing over 30 Multi-Family exterior renovation and refurbishments across the country.
The Marek, located near the Dartmouth Medical Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire is the first of several specialized multi-family developments being rolled out across the county by Saxon Partners. Senior Living Environments in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The COVID-19 pandemic has affected everyone, but older adults are among the most impacted. When the pandemic started, the Luxe Design Team was in the middle of four Senior Living projects. One project located in Cleveland Ohio and three projects located in Miami, Florida. In April of 2020 LDA immediately began discussing and researching creative solutions for how our designs could prepare our clients for post-pandemic life and recover stronger. How do we bring more compassion and humanity to the senior living resident experience and the environment? The LDA approach was to address emotional, cognitive, and physical needs, by designing for experiences with outcomes that are resilient and able to evolve over time.
The built environment is taking a larger role in people’s emotional and physical health and welfare. Now, interior spaces are more adaptable to evolving user needs. A wellness ecosystem is resilient; it is focused on health, diversity, and inclusivity. We can learn from this crisis to improve wellness at all scales — from enhancing the experience of public spaces, to creating interiors that promote well-being. During the COVID-19 pandemic older adults living in senior housing were physically cut off from loved ones and became more increasingly tech-savvy, innovative, independent, and diverse. The design of senior living interior spaces is evolving to offer more choice and physical-digital integration. Savvy operators and developers are building spaces that accommodate the full spectrum of clients, catering to their specific needs
